THE GOAL of the Institute is to develop products through the proof-of-concept stage and then establish partnerships or licensing agreements in order to bring them to market.
An early-stage project focuses on reducing a concept to defined milestones and timelines for development. This includes laboratory and clinical work. We have reason to proceed but may not know the active agent(s) or we may be able to simplify the formulation. Representative projects include dementia, autism, and placebo.
- Institute researchers consider dementia to be a reversible disease in whole or in part. Early anecdotal evidence indicates that in some cases it can be at least partially corrected in a matter of a few weeks. More...
- We also consider autism to be a reversible disease. Evaluations now spanning seven years have shown promising results. A novel formulation utilizing low-level antibody therapy—the first of its kind in the world—has significantly reduced the cost of treatment and improved the clinical status of patients. More...
- Our placebo research is a long-term project. It will require significant integration of scientific disciplines for both understanding the response and elucidating the mechanism by which the response can be artificially induced. More...
By the time a project reaches mid-stage, we have enough experience to file an Investigational New Drug (IND) application. Through basic science research, a therapeutic agent has been identified and characterized by defining concentration and frequency of administration. We have also accumulated sufficient pilot study data to justify formal FDA- or USDA-approved evaluations. Current mid-stage projects include depression and anxiety, diabetes, and urinary incontinence.
- By using naturally-occurring peptides, it appears that psychological balance can be restored for those suffering from depression and anxiety. Anecdotal human evidence has been supported by in vivo experiments with validated animal models. More...
- Diabetes is also considered to be a reversible disease. In the several species tested, early anecdotal results indicate that insulin dependency can be reduced or eliminated. Diabetic neuropathy can likewise be significantly modified or eliminated. More...
- The three types of urinary incontinence—stress, urge, and mixed—respond quickly to this therapy. In small pilot studies, some women have found the disorder resolved without further need of medication. More...
A late-stage project is one that is ready for partnering or licensing. Proof-of-concept trials have established the viability of a medicine and filing for government-authorized Phase 3 clinical trials is necessary to move the product forward to the pharmaceutical market, or may now be ready for the nutraceutical supplement market.
- Our therapeutic agent for shingles falls within this category. It has shown highly consistent and rapid resolution of pain without recurrence. More...
